Fantastic structure at the top of this immense town. Other than the structure and the unbelievable view from the top of the hill there is not an awful lot more to see, use the hop on bus to get here.
I was downtown and this is a symbol so why not going there. It is OK to see the big Virgin. I went upstairs and like it, but could be skipped if you are short of time
This is a must in Quito, the Panecillo virgin is the aluminium tallest statue in the world, you can go inside, excellent view!, there´s a couple of cafe´s also
The hop on hop off bus tour stops here for 30 minutes which is plenty of time to enjoy the views of the huge city and surrounding mountains and volcanoes.

I have been here at day and night and both visits were breathtaking. Love the stained glass images of the different virgins in Ecuador they have in one of the floors as you make your way up
