Everytime we return to Quito we go to Guapulo. Each time they are doing more to keep it up. The view is amazing and the church is well kept.

Guapulo is a beautiful place on the side of a very very tall hill. It has a popular church and also is full with hispters and arts pubs and restaurants. A great spot to go by night,

You can walk from Hotel Quito down the cobble road to the plaza of Guapulo, with excellent views of the valley and Cordillera Oriental. follow in footsteps of Orellana and Pizarro. The church has some interesting paintings.

This was once a Catholic Church and monastery. Today the church is still active but the monastery has been turned into a University Satelite campus. However, the church is small by most standards but truly magnificent on all levels. A popular choice in Quito for...More
