We enjoyed the cable car ride to the top. We went first thing in the morning and when we came down around 10:30, there was a long line. Beautiful views of Quito.

This place is a must when visiting Quito. From here you can see all of the city from above and, if you're lucky, you get to see some of the biggest mountains/volcanoes in the Ecuadorian Andes. If you like to hike, you can hike up...More

There is not much of infrastructure, but the view is unbelievable. I also strongly recommend to visit the Pichincha volcano top. And don’t walk too fast, remember that you are at almost 4000 m above see level, not much oxygen available! :)

Expect to spend at least two hours if just going for the view. However I suggest you visit the amusement park if just to people watch. I also recommend wearing good walking or hiking shoes and taking a few trails for other spectacular views and...More

As someone who loves to go to the highest point and look down this was an absolute must when visiting Quito and it didn’t disappoint. I went at 9am on a Sunday morning (although on weekends it appears to open at 8am) and there was...More

It was a sunny day although it was cold. The day was perfect for the 'Teleferico'. I had an excellent guide with me since we were planning to tour the city later on. Even he was excited as we were able to clearly see about...More

It's a shame that Quito spent sooo much money to make the Teleferico an Amusement Park. Most of the rides are not operating anymore but the Teleferico is still operating and is safe and affords fantastic views. Don't forget to go inside the building at...More

We were in Quito in October 2017 and our first day in the city started with the Teleferico. The views are remarkable when the weather is clear. We arrived right when they opened and did not wait in any lines. It was much chillier at...More

If it's a clear morning in Quito head for the Teleferico, but remember to bring a jacket, it's chilly up there. Even though I'm not that fond of cable cars, the 15 minute ride up is rewarded with fantastic views of the city and the...More

We did the Teleferico as part of our Quito city tour. I enjoyed the cable car ride up to the top. There were excellent views of Quito and the surrounding volcanoes.

I usually just take a taxi. From the old town it should be about a 15-20 minute ride depending on the traffic. If you dont pay the driver to wait for you, you might have to wait awhile for someone to bring you back down.

It's just a good view. There is a mini cafe but not worth eating there. There is a chapel. Not much else.
