The Plaza de Armas de Areuipa was the perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy the weather, the beautiful sight of the Cathedral and look at the Misti volcano....thankfully they are not allowing cars in the periphery of the plaza..

This is not one of the most famous squares, but it's really nice though. There are many locals relaxing on the square which gives it a nice atmosphere. Also the surrounding buildings are stunning.

Nice place to people watch and see the historical buildings. The real tourist information is here and also a lot of tour agencies. A little touristy and there are quite a few people trying to get you to go into their stores and restaurants.

The plaza is pretty with nice garden and fountain. The buildings are white which makes them look very pretty. Well organized and had some time to look around

Very charming plaza with arches all around. We suggest skipping the touristy restaurants on the ground floor and head towards one of the top floor bars to enjoy the view. Some have a minimum consumption amount but with 2 piscos sour you’ll be past it.

All buildings were constructed using local volcanic white sillar stone making the square very pretty. The cathedral stood grandly on one side and the other three sides stood pretty colonnades.

Wauw, what a beautiful city and stunning scenery. Even we heard and read beforehand many good things about the beauty of Arequipa but to see it in reality is just great! This might be the most beautiful Plaza de Armas with the most inviting atmosphere...More
