Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

10 hours was not long enough for this wonderful journey!

Wonderful scenery, good food and great staff - this is easiest the best train ride. We went from Puno to Cusco, and took amazing pictures along the way.

We travelled from Cusco to Puno with our teenagers and all loved the trip. The food and bar service was wonderful and staff were very attentive. Little chance of boredom with live music, fashion parade and a mid-trip stop. The trip flew by for us. Very much enjoyed by all!

It's much more expensive than the equivalent bus from Cusco to Puno in Peru but worth every sole! It takes 10.5 hours but the scenery through the Andes is spectacular and the service on board is magnificent ! From the moment you arrive at the station in Cusco, they take care of you -in a stylish waiting room. On the... More

My journey started in Puno and because there are already some very detailed reviews here, I would like to share my experience with you. I travelled as a single girl and was very well looked after by Señor Arnaldo, who is the Service Manager on board. He is multilingual and knows hospitality because he has worked all the world, including... More

The Andean Explorer is the train that runs from Cusco to Puno, on Lake Titicaca. It is a ten hour journey, considerably more expensive and longer than going by bus or taking a flight, but I consider it was worth every penny. Everyone sits at tables of 1, 2 or 4, on seats that are like armchairs and very comfortable.... More

We had seen this listed as one of the grear train rides of the world and it did not fail to deliver. We were greeted warmly in Puno where our bags were checked and they moved us to be able to sit facing forward together. You need in nice and comfortable cushioned arm chairs. There are less than 50 passengers... More

Having taken a return trip on Vistadome the weekend prior, we really felt we were in for a treat with Andean Explorer. We were sadly wrong! (Vistadome was excellent!) The "scenery" was just mile upon mile of flat scrubland, crumbling buildings and graffiti. We had high hopes for the included meal and certainly the smoked trout appetiser was lovely. However,... An extraordinary experience travelling across the altiplano. Okay it's a 10 hour trip but the scenery is exceptional. We had a wonderful meal in the train. Well prepared and very well presented. The viewing car is an absolute joy. This, to me, was one of the highlights of a tour of South America. Highly recommended

Travelling by train is always a great way to see places, and the Andean Explorer is no exception. The train is beautiful, the food above average, and the service discreet and professional. Highly enjoyable. The only negative was a disorganised disembark in Puno, where we were made to stay in the carriage for over twenty minutes whilst they unloaded the... More
