Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

You don't take this train purely for transportation purposes. You can fly in a fraction of the time it takes. The landscape you pass through though is very impressive, and the train experience lovely and make the 10 hours pass quite quickly. The only downside we experienced was that something they served us for lunch (I think it was the... More

It was a nice experience for about 5-6 hours. but 10-11 hours for 400 km is just too much. I couldn't get it out of my mind that the train was deliberately going slow to prolong the trip. It was very expensive per kilometer of travel. The train was comfortable and the staff seemed attentive and we got to see... More

We took the Andean Explorer from Puno to Cusco and we were completely satisfied with this wonderful 10-hour journey. The service was excellent and we enjoyed very much the outside platform of the last car. The landscape during the trip is so beautiful. The 10 hours past really quickly. We bought a backpacker ticket (169 US Dollar) and I was... More

Our Andean Explorer experience harked back to the golden days of train travel. In the spirit of the Orient Express, we took the luxurious Andean Explorer to Cusco. Often referred to as one of the best train journeys of the world, the ten hour journey took us through spectacular changing landscapes passing steppes, nomadic tribes, deep gorges shouldering the river... A fascinating 10 hours traveling over the Andes , the train was very comfortable and the staff attentive. So much to see in terms of rural life and changing landscapes. Great observation car with a nice bar. There is some entertainment en route some of which was a little bizarre but credit to the effort that was put into it.... More

We went from Puno to Cusco and had a great time. It is a pretty scenic route and there was tasty food served along the way. This is a pretty plush experience and is worth the expense when compared to taking a cramped bus. We arrived in Cusco and were not tired at all.

Six of us took the Andean Explorer from Puno to Cusco during our two week trip to Peru. This is a great option to relax in luxury while making your trip to Cusco or Puno. It is certainly not the fastest way (Train probably averages around 35-40 km/h) but it's all about the journey. Miles and miles of fabulous countryside... More

Wow, went on this train trip from Puno (Lake Titicaca) to Cusco whilst on a 2 week holiday in Peru. Ok, its a little expensive, but so much better than getting a coach or plane between the 2 locations, Its an activity in itself. A little luxury here. I would have liked a little more food (any extra had to be paid for) but otherwise a truly memorable experience. Staff were top class, the band were enthusiastic and the scenery was something you only see in movies!! Expensive but try to make the trip if you can. I doubt you'll be disappointed. I went... More
