We did this trek with our bikes during November. Really hard and challenging, but so rewarding! The scenery is beautiful. The only problem we have to dealt with was altitude sickness.

Ausungate is a spectacular mountain visible from and a few hours from Cusco, it dominates the southern (I think) skyline. It is the biggest peak in this mountainous area of Peru. You can get close on the Ausungate and Vinicunca treks, where you can really...More

If you look for snow , look for the holy mountains of the Ausangate. There are many tracks leading to them in great amazing natural surroundings

We set off to do this trek as individually as possible. However, we didn't want to carry everything on our backs, nor struggle to find the way all the time (the trail is not indicated at all, although with a good map or some sense...More

This is the most beautiful place to trek in South America. We spent 6 days there and did not see one other tourist.

Hi! I'm planning to do the Ausangate trek in Mid June. My route is still flexible for the exact days. I'm coming from Berlin (30y.) and I'm wondering if somebody is interested in doing the ausangate around the same time? Cheers, Eva

Someone mentioned the Ausangate 7 lagoons tour by horse. Is there someone to contact to set that up? Would it be possible in January?

There are many local guides in Tinki who use horses, but for the most part, they are packing horses, but you could ask if you could ride them. The better weather for Ausangate is May - September, otherwise it is very rainy.
Hi, My boyfriend and I will be in Cusco late March. Can we do Ausangate in 1 day? Thank you-Cary
