We liked Avenida El Sol in Cusco - nice place to walk with multiple attractions - museums, theaters, and restaurants. Festivities in fact starting at the Avenida, just before the performers enter the Plaza de Armas.

Busy street, lots of places to eat and drinks - close to all the banks too if you need an ATM. Right in the heart of Cusco, very nice for a wander around

Try walking all the avenue until you get to Centro Histórico. You will be able to see the Convento de Santo Domingo and some governmental buildings.

Stayed at a hotel on the strip, its the main avenue going directly into plaza de amras. The street itself has ice cream shops, bakerys, cafes etc.

You will probably ride along this avenida if entering or exiting Cuzco unless you know the back roads really well.
