If you know much about history this is a significant ruins to view. Best viewed in the morning before the crowds, but worth the time and effort to see.

Not only the splendid view, but also the incredible welcoming from the local people makes one feel they traveled back in time. With just half an hour in the park you already feel like an inka.

The ruins of Ollantaytambo are spectaculars, the best time for pictures and less crowds and tour buses is in the morning, then have lunch in one of the many good restaurants in the center of the town (Alpanka my favorite restaurant) and go across to...More

This place was amazing! Our guide Jonathan was very informative and helpful. You will need a couple of hours at least to take it all in and enjoy the scenery beyond too.

After you visit Machu Pichu all other sites will likely pale in comparison. Our tour was scheduled so that we hit the “lesser” archaeological sites before going to MP. That said, the other sites are pretty impressive in their own right. This is one of...More

Had no idea we'd pay so much to get in, but the park was super impressive. Really different from other sites we visited nearby and definitely worth allowing several hours to see it.

Used a tour guide on sight who gave us a lot of information we wouldn't have gotten. Enjoyed all her knowledge! Beautiful views! Be prepared to climb a lot of tall steps!

We had hiked Machu Picchu the day before so we were very sore, but we greatly enjoyed the ruins at ollantaytambo. The day was beautiful and there was a pleasant breeze as we ascended to a vantage point overlooking the whole town. We loved as...More

We stayed in Yucay, near Ollantaytambo so it was a short ride. We had private guide so this won't help you as he picked us at 9. I would imagine we got there by 10:30 or so after some stops at Pisac. Going into the town is... More
