Museum is across the street from the Grand Pacific and is well worth a visit showing the history of Fiji that you cannot get from the tourist resorts artwork and the boats are very intereting

A great place to start when visiting the capital of Fiji. It is reminiscent and displays an interesting past of the colonial era

There aren't a great many tourist attractions in Suva, unless you like shopping, so the museum was a nice breath of culture at the end of the botanical gardens. It's $10 entry for adults and I guess a fair price considering the amount of time we spent there. An interesting collection of historical boats and maritime equipment greets you in... More

It was interesting but I was surprised that the history didn't go back very far. The old sea ships was especially interesting. The tools were exquisite.

Pretty small and underfunded for a national museum. However, there is some very interesting exhibits and its a good gateway to expanding on one's knowledge of the Islands history and culture. It takes about 1 - 2 hours to view, depending on your interest level. The gift shop has an extremely good selection of books on Fiji history and peoples... More

It's great to have a museum in FIJI to capture important cultural and historical artifacts and relics. I wish more citizens would contribute to it as well as visit with family and friends to keep the establishment going. Definitely a recommendation for all my visitor friends who are stuck for activities and are in Suva for a short trip.

Leading to the museum is a park and nearby, some cricket pitches. The museum has a few examples of boats made of bamboo or dugout tree trunks along with some cloths, weapons, and household items. There are a couple portions with air conditioning and a small gift shop. Price was $US5 or Fijian dollars. The museum is worth a visit... More
