The square is visible thanks to hotel Tirana international 11th floor. No walking in the square because of it is still being restored. Can just imagine from my hote window that this big square would be amazing to hang around when finished. On the opposite site a majestic statue of Skenderbeg, riding his horse. The old mosque and the monumental... More

The Albanians are really trying. Having banned cars from the big square, they have paved it and have plans of fountains etc. As of May 25th it is not ready - they say it will be in June, but it is hard to believe. It's old plaza which was built sometimes in mid 19th century . Plaza it's brand new rebuilt. In front it's hotel Tirana , museum and in a side it's a old mosque. I recommend as the most attractive plaza in Tirana

In the last stages of becoming a remarkable European Square, an enjoyable platform to view a century of history and enjoy an arboretum of native trees while strolling on indigenous stones. A fresh approach that puts urbanites and visitors first and raises the central Skanderbeg Square to a new level. A panoramic stage in the heart of this intriguing city.

In the center of Tirana a square that incorporates the entire history of Albania, from oldest times til today. You can't even avoid it, the major boulevards of the city cross here.
