While always enjoying historical museums, this one delivered as well. The interesting fact is that pre-historical era to 1790 takes about 40% of the space, while soviet times are granted around 50% of the museum capacity. Tell's a bit about the country priorities. Key takeaways...More

Noone spoke English at the ticket desk so I ended up buying the wrong ticket which barred me from some rooms. Annoying but I may go back to see what id missed in the Dali Picasso exhibition. Good wwII exhibition especially good photosof Stalingrad.

Had a conducted tour with a young man who good English and explained everything very thoroughly. Lot of history we in the west do not know. Well worth doing
