I loved the architecture in Zagreb ,one building that caught my eye was Moderna Galerija .
A great looking art exhibition museum ,the building is clearly influenced by the architecture of the once mighty Austro- Hungarian Empire ,I originally thought it was a theatre building ,such a photogenic building that adds to the joy of walking around this part of the city ,it's easy to locate along Ulica Andrije Habranga and well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Great staff, great gallery. Damn inspired.

It is a pity that Roerich ended up on the stairs. Brilliant and joyful to see his work

I visited Moderna Galerija Zagreb in October 2022. The museum hosts an impressive collection of modern art mostly from Croatian artists that I never heard of. Allow yourself three hours to tour the museum.

I went on a eary morning on Juy 19. The museum is next to my favorite park in Zagreb and as well on a grand avenue. I was early and the friendly staff suggest me to wait in the garden and admire the sculptures. The building is impressive and i like the seasonal and permanent collection. Nice to see croation artist from the 19th century.

A fairly good range of Croatian modern art. Some very nice works giving a good overview of contemporary art in Croatia.

A really awesome collection of modern and contemporary art from the early 19th century until the present. You can watch the interaction of Croatian artists with French, German, and American artists through the decades with some very innovative local spirit. Everything is beautifully displayed as well and the space is beautiful.

If I were going to visit only one art museum in Zagreb, this would be it.

So modern I guess depends on how old your county is. This is not Warhol and Jasper Johns type stuff. This is 19th and 20th century masters from the region. A lot of art packed into a small space, but worth the time and energy. Sculpture, oils, watercolors all from artists that I was not aware of. Guess I should have paid more attention in art history class.

I thought it was well curated and well displayed. Yes it is small and can feel a bit crowed at times, but I applaud the effort. Admittance is typical Zagreb cheap and there is a small gift shop where you can indulge you desire for a souvenir.

Very close to our hotel and well worth the time if you have any interest in art from this region and time. Photography without flash is allowed.

This interesting gallery is the national gallery dedicated to Croatian artists of the modern era from 19th to 21st centuries including paintings and other art mediums. Loved the soft light filled paintings by Bukovac. Located on a leafy avenue, Andrije Hebranga, lined with parks, gardens, and graceful buildings.

Moderna galerija / gallery still has same problem. There is an old building and too many good paintings and sculptures. On one side of Sava is huge and spacious Museum of contemporary art and here is small palace with good works of art pushed together, without space to admire them and with terrible position in second floor if there are more than five visitors together. They organize temporary exhibitions in the first floor - many masterpieces are at the same time hidden in depo. Gallery is simply too small for Zagreb and Croatian art. Second part of the 20 century art can be simply transferred in the half empty new museum across the Sava river.
