Meeting place for walking trip and everything happens in this central location.Very crowded in the evenings and at weekends. Background history given of how this monument was erected and one should go on the walking tour to discover the origin of the monument.

It is in the center of Zagreb which is almost the meeting point for exploring the city. Just another statue in my view.

The square doesn't have much to offer, other than seeing the large monument, but radiating off it are all sorts of cafes, stores, restaurants and seemingly all the street car lines. So it makes a good focal point for the city. Seems to always be buzzing (a movie was being filmed here when I visited and the next night was... More

This monument is the center piece in the down town square and looks impressive. Ban Josip was a military General in Croatia and obviously he must have scored big to earn a place in the square. You will spot this monument in your city walk.

This is a very busy square, yet not many tourists. Could have been the time of year, or it was a colder day. The square itself is pretty bland, but the statue is a regal reminder of the past. It sits all by itself among the people in all it's glory. As with most European statues, they are, well....statues. Some... More

This was our meeting spot on my tour of Zagreb. It is a very imposing statue and very hard to miss. It is located in a square that includes many retail shops, banks, and restaurants. I love the surround architecture - reminds me of Paris.

A nice place to sit and watch the crowds. Plenty of restaurants nearby shops. Right in the middle of the walking district.

This statue was our meeting place to begin our local tour of Zagreb (part of our Collette Vacations tour). It is located (of course) in Jelacic Square.
