Cotroceni Palace (Palatul Cotroceni) makes for Good rainy day activity. Good collection of royal memorabilia too.

There is a very interesting museum that can be visited only by appointment. English speaking guide very good with extended knowledge on art and history.

The Cotroceni Palace is a must place to visit in Bucharest. Not too fat from the centre of Bucharest.

I think it would be best to take the full tour. The cellars are also worthwhile to visit... and the guides are very competent
