One of the more striking things about this beautiful botanical garden is the fact that it is located right next to an industrial centre, complete with cooling towers, chimneys churning out everything nasty-looking, and nasty smells. That small problem aside, the garden is well kept and absolutely beautiful in the spring. While having a stroll, you'll come across impressive pine trees, a lily pond with waterfall and a herb garden. Bucharestians treat the gardens as a park, and on warm afternoons you may see more young lovers than plants. The huge glasshouses are open Tue, Thr, Sat, Sun, 09:00 - 13:00. Take bus 336 from Universitate to get there. Admission 10,000 lei (5,000 for children).

There are some better Botanical Gardens in Romania and many more beautiful parks in Bucharest, but it is still a nice place to go, especially during springtime. There is a beautiful rose garden with many species and in March there are some beautiful orchids blooming in the winter garden.

Boyfriend and I decided on a day trip and were we sadly disappointed! What a let down thought the website was a disaster but the grounds were even more disappointing! The sculptures were dated and tired looking with few incorporating into the landscape. There was little or nothing to do and see other than walk about, other than the rose... More

it could be nice, but it's not. even cismigiu or herastrau are more well maintained. few explanatory cards, most unreadable. lots of shrubbery so you can't really tell which are the plants. the ponds are messy and depressing

This garden is a very good place to go when you want to get away of the city noise. Great variety of plants.

The Botanical Garden in Bucharest is a totally disappointing place. It is almost deserted, as very few people visit there, despite the very low entrance fee - only 5 lei (€1.5) and 2 (€0.5) lei for students and persioners. The Gardens look desolating, just like an ordinary park, where you can go walking along the quiet alleys lined by tall... More

For only 5 Leu that you pay after the exit of your visit, it is too cheap for anyone who wants to see a great variety of flowers and trees with information! If you are tired and you want to relax from everyday pressure, you have to go for sure!!
