Whenever I visit Belgrade, I go for a walk around Kalemegdan (Belgrade Fortress) on one of my first days in the city. The weather was perfect, sunny and with clear skies. Take a walk from the entrance to the park from the end of Knez Mihailova and enjoy the view of the junction of the Danube and Sava Rivers as... More

A very mixed site - historical significance, nice views, and a place to mingle with the locals. Good to walk around in the evening.

Large area located at confluence of Danube and Sava Rivers. The views are exceptional particularly toward New Belgrade, Zemun and in Northerly direction. One should allocate at least 3-4 hours. You may want to spend an hour or so in Military museum located in the fort itself. There is an area with many artillery guns and tanks from by gone... More

If you walk around Kalemegdan, you must wander over to the fortress to take a look! Ancient walls, a military museum, centuries of history and more! Plan on spending time here to wander and wonder!

Great view, especially in the evening or at night. Not fare away from the city center. Just a few minutes to walk.

If you are in Belgrade go the fortress on a Saturday. There's a rave that will get you gurning like a smacked up camel eating a hay straw. Wasn't much advertising for it we kind of just came across it but do ask around. People are friendly and the girls have all the va va voom a pretend to be... More

Important part of all Belgradians' life. Definitely must see when in Belgrade. Today it is a huge park, but Belgrade Fortress' vivid history goes back to the 1st century. It would be great if you could see it as a part of some organized tour, or maybe read about it.

This fortess came along with a beautiful park, the victor statut, a old style building, a little soldier's church, a beautiful vue of the river/bridges/other side of Belgrade and you have a shopping area and many restaurants really close (i don't recommend restaurants and coffee shops in the central street of the area, just for tourist and expensive). Kalamegdan is... More
