Includes WW!!, Afghan war and their current war in the East. Hands on exhibits of a Mig, helicopter. I wish i could have read the displays, however, they are done so well that I could interpret. Very heart moving.

Wow, amazing. First time in a plane cockpit (war one). My 9 years son was delighted and curious to learn more about war history. A must visit in Kiev.

We would have liked to go to this museum and waited in line to get a ticket. Once we got there and asked whether any of the descriptions are in English the woman just made the most unfriendly face signaling that she doesn't care what...More

The museum seems very thorough and informative. It's a little tough for an English speaker, since none of the actual displays include English; what they do is put a detailed description of what you're going to see (in English, French, and German) as you're walking...More

Really interesting, with a lot of military vehicles on display (planes. tanks, trunks, helicopters) from all war eras. It was closed when we were there but our guide still described some of the highlights for us. I would recommend bringing a guide.

Having English audio-guides makes the visit much more valuable than is been les to believe by Lonely Planet and some reviewers. I spent an engaged hour and a half here, following the 'road of war' and looking at debris, rusted guns and ordnance, and the...More

Visited Great Patriotic War Museum 21 July 2015. As a person interested in history, this was something I had looked forward to for some time. First there are the outdoor displays of military equipment, mostly of 1940s vintage, but some of current vintage. As a...More

Although all the exhibits are in Ukrainian/Russian, they did provide information "cards" in English at the beginning of most of the halls. This information was invaluable. Ukraine really suffered during World War II and the number of military and civilian casualties during that time is...More

I paid a fee, but that included a guide, so maybe it is free to just walk in. Rooms are in order of events that you walk around. Very eye opening to see things from the Ukrainian side. If you like history of WW2 this...More

Most of them outside - technique. Smaller War Museum is inside. We were there for about 2-3 hours.

Yes I agree you need 2 to 3 hours, mainly because much of it is outside and spread around and the hill top park it is in and the views it gives are a large part of the visit
