The cathedral was built over nine centuries and is a great example of Byzantine and Ukrainian Baroque architecture. The interior contains mosaics and frescoes dating back to the 11th century.

Really worth your time and my favorite of Kiev's many Churches / Cathedrals. The ancient murals are stunning. Try to visit on a sunnier day as the light through the windows really add to the experience.

Beautiful and awe inspiring! The colors on the walls are fantastic, as is the height of the dome. Every inch is covered in dazzling patterns and images.

It is most conveniently located in the center of tourist area, and it is quite beautiful. Going up the bell tower give you a nice view of old city of 360 degree.

We seen a lot of churches and cathedrals & many take your breath away. This is no exception - the main mosaic inside is very special. Be idle here. But no photos inside

Quiet, beautiful and fascinating. We spent an hour here exploring this old cathedral. Come for the detailed altar, stay for the original works of art.

St Sofia is amazing, the hand painted egg mural was magnificent. It’s a shame you can’t take photos but well worth a visit

An impressive exterior and surrounding, some part dating back nearly 1000 years, with some wall painting touched up, and not so well to be honest. Nevertheless you need to take 20 mins to see inside. There is a miniature cityscape model of Kiev within cathedral.
