Great respite from the smog, but not the best we've seen

This is probably the only green and calm place in the whole of San Salvador which is the reason it's worth a visit, even though it is a bit hard to get to. The price is very... read more

We always go with kids - there is a great climbing area for kids, turtles and fish to feed and tons of cool plants to look at. There is a little snack shop also. You can easily spend a few hours here and also visit the plant store that is connected to the park.

This is probably the only green and calm place in the whole of San Salvador which is the reason it's worth a visit, even though it is a bit hard to get to. The price is very affordable and there is a pretty decent collection of huge old trees and many species of plants from around the world. Of course... More

After going downtown this was a great stop. Beautiful garden with small ponds with fish and many plant types and plenty of birds. Many great spots to sit in the shade and enjoy the peace.

This is not a great botanical garden. It's OK but not really that big or impressive. It's also a bit of a pain to get to. It made a pleasant stroll as such gardens always do, but I've been to many WAY better.

This was the first place we visited in San Salvador. We walked from our hotel about 20 minutes to reach it. We loved the shady respite and place to catch up after a long night of flying. We had a soft drink from the canteen and watched locals feed the fish and turtles. It was interesting to learn about some... More

At $1.25 admission, this is a bargain. Prepare yourself for mosquitos, there is slow moving water, and you're sure to leave with at least a couple bites if you are uncovered.

Jardin Botanico is the place to go if you want to learn about the different types of plants that El Salvador grows. Beautiful place to spend some time to relax and enjoy nature. Inexpensive and it has a big play area for kids. My family loved this place. It has a cafeteria where you can buy lunch (it cost around... More

We take our class here for a field trip every year. It is a little oasis in the city, and you can spend a lot of time wandering around. Plants are all labeled, and there is an impressive variety. There are iguanas, big fish, turtles, and all sorts of birds there, too. The playground area is big and the kids... More

I visited the La Laguna Botanic Garden on a Sunday afternoon when there were a lot of families visiting the garden, getting shady relief from the hot sun and urban concrete. The kids--as all kids around the world-- were ecstatic with the little waterfalls, the bridges, the streams, the mosses, the frogs, and the sodas at the cafe at the... More

This botanical garden was recommended to my boyfriend and me by our hotel (Arbol de Fuego- look them up!) and was only a short walk away- maybe 15 or 20 min. We visited the garden on our last afternoon in El Salvador and it was such a nice way to end an amazing trip. We walked in the garden and... More
