Pipeline road is a nice walk through the jungle and you'll likely see howler monkeys and a few birds. Not sure I'd recommend it without a fabulous guide like Jacobo Ortega. We saw nearly 40 bird species in our first hour and nearly 70 overall including 4 kinds of trogon, 3 kinds of toucan, 10 flycatcher species, and more obscure species like antpitta, antbird, and antwren. In a matter of seconds Jacobo would find the bird and have his scope on it for exceptional looks at nearly all of them. He even took photos for me through my cell phone. Sadly, because of the pandemic, we were Jacobos first customers in 10 months but he deserves more. His number is 507 6674-4464 and he speaks good English. Charged my wife and I $100 for a private and spectacular 4-hour birdwatching tour.

The area is stunning and the park itself really beautiful. As nature lovers we enjoy just walking through parks. It was a disappointment to see that animals are kept in cages. Would not
go back.

We took Yala Tours to visit the park and it was excellent. Pipeline Rd has so many birds, monkeys and other fauna, and it is a very good place to spend a morning. Go early so that you can see/hear all the birds.

After flying into Panama the previous day, wee were happy to get a chance to walk around.
There were plenty of birds and monkeys on display. Especially hummingbirds and howler monkeys.
Be sure to climb the lookout tower for a great view above the canopy.

Took an Uber out to the Park and did about a 14k hike and then an Uber back, total cost from Albrook was $23. Thoroughly enjoyed it and Highly recommend the hiking. Bring lots of water, be there early to see wildlife, enjoy a picnic, bring your garbage out with you, and enjoy this beautiful park.

We have two small children so long walks are not possible so we did the walk towards the canopy tower. Nice walk of 1.2 km and we saw sloths, howler monkeys, aguti, white nosed coati and some nice birds. Nice end to our stay in Panama.

Great park to visit when staying in Panama City. Take a uber/taxi for $20 to the start of Pipeline Road that is on the far end of the town Gamboa. Here you can walk the dirt rocky track towards the discovery centre or beyond. We found it very easy to stop plenty of animals along the way including a beautiful three toed sloth!! Catch a bus from Gamboa or hitch a ride with a local driver to get home again (local driver will be approx $8-10).

We enjoyed our visit to Soberania National Park. We elected to book a private tour. We were picked up at our hotel in Panama City at 6:00 a.m. and were driven to the park by our guide. The duration of the drive was about 45 minutes each way. Along the way, we saw roadside hawks and the ubiquitous black vulture. We made a first stop at a wetland area and observed wading birds such as egrets and herons, including the tiger heron. Our second stop was in the rainforest, where we took a slow walk along the pipeline trail. We observed several more species of birds, including trogons, tanagers, toucans, and the great tinamou (we heard, but did not see, woodpeckers and parrots). In terms of mammals, we saw agoutis and a troop of capuchin monkeys. The monkeys attracted our attention by dropping, from the trees, half-eaten passion fruits upon us! At a final stop, not far from the pipeline trail, we were able to observe a sloth. We made it back to our hotel by noon. We recommend visiting this park.

The tour of the Sloth Sanctuary is well worth the time. You are able to get up close & observe the wonderful creatures in their natural habitat, then a short walk to the Butterfly Sanctuary lets you walk among hundreds of beautiful butterflies in their natural environment. They light on your shoulder & arm and fly circles all around you.....an absolutely charming experience. You can also see all the various types of orchids that grow in the rainforests of Panama.
