The hike is not very difficult. One the way up we did spot a sloth. A variety of bird species. The view from the top was great.

Esther at Xplora Panama planned this day for us on our last day in Panama. What an amazing trip. A quick cab ride from our hotel in Panama City brought us to the visitors center where a super friendly employee explained the various trail options and where to catch the best views. Animals and birds were everywhere along the trails.... More

Went birding with a group of friends to Metro Park in December 2016. We had an abundance of wonderful birds seen, plus howler monkey and two-toed sloth. Unfortunately, we didn't get to the top to see the amazing view of the city, but there's always next time!

we went walking looking for sloths (which we didnt see). The views were amazing and worth the uphill hike. So close to the city it is worth it just for the views.

The park has three main trails, all of which are well maintained and marked. The trails then passes through forest, you can "meet" animals along the way and a few series of climbs and descents. before reaching a dirt road - the Monkey Road. To complete the trail and return to the Visitor Centre takes 1 to 2 hours. lots... More

Maybe it was because we had just had a downpour even though it did not rain on our hike but we were DRENCHED after our two hour hike. This is a challenging hike but well worth it. Don't bother to take the hike up to the top which is a side trip in the middle of the trail (don't worry,... More

Not so much a Park, more like a nature preserve with paths. Called the "lungs of Panama City"-- the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Easy access by cab or Uber

Like the park as it had several different trails to hike, the hikes were clearly marked and we were able to do them in about half the time that they suggest. they did want us to pay $4.00 per person though.

We saw monkeys, incredible birds, agouti, sloths, incredible blue butterflies hiking the trails. This was a fabulous in town wildlife adventure!

THis is a great place. More like a forest than a park. Well maintained paths lead you through old growth moist tropical forest. You can find monkeys here, agoutis and over 200 species of birds. The entrancec fee is USd 4 for foreigners which is a bargain. Definitely worth a morning.
