Like everything in Panama it all depends on your guide. I can only speak for Lumo Tours and the guide Louis. He will make sure you get to see lots of monkeys, feed and visit with them in a small boat. Children love the experience. When...More

Take the boat trip and feed the critters. They are hams and love the tourist. Careful they will steal! Kids really loved it.

We took a tour from the hotel to that island. Hot and humid, but interesting. Monkeys like you never saw. First experience with that kind of animals. Good guide. Not a must, but you have your money worth.

WE loved this as one of the BEST excursions in Panama. We arrived at 9 AM with grapes and bananas, as recommended by our guide. ALL the monkeys jumped onto our boat since we had the food, other boats had less/no action. Our 3 and...More

We matched this up with a trip to the Miraflores Locks Museum on the canal - I highly recommend it. If you get a tour guide that knows the area they will likely have a boat driver that knows all the best spots. Our travel...More

Our group of sixteen adventurers took a lovely and relaxing boat ride along the Panama Canal, Chagres River and Lake Gatun. It was a pleasure to see the Capuchin Monkeys on the island. They seemed as curious about us as we were about them.

I took a Gatun Lake Monkey Island boat tour and had a fabulous time. Saw numerous monkeys-Howlers, Capuchin, and Tamarinds. Two even came onto our boat. Getting to see them up close was amazing. We also saw a toucan, numerous other birds, a few iguanas,...More

We did this as part of a privately arranged tour. It was amazing! We saw monkeys, capuchins, lizards, crocodiles, birds and toucans flying around. Has we realized, we would have packed up some fruit from breakfast as the little monkeys jump right on the boat!...More

Nothing to go out of our way for, but we visited because it was part of our larger excursion. The monkeys are fun to watch, just keep all your stuff attached to you, and don't try to pet them. Remember they're wild animals.

Search for Panama Day Trips on Trip Advisor, and we did the Ocean to Ocean Tour that includes Monkey Island. They have a website and contact info there.

We stayed at the Gamboa Resort hotel and booked through them. However, you can also find the Boat Captains for fishing trips and book through them as well. We booked a fishing trip and tipped the Captain $20 to take us by... More
