This is a very typical Central American styled religious building. The altar is made of gold. It is located in a very safe part of town. Which is very easy to walk around. If you’d like to visit religious buildings when you vacation, this cathedral...More

The plaza where the cathedral is located is very typical of a Latino-American style, with a colonial hotel at one end. However; the cathedral is being renovated and we were disappointed not to have been able to see the façade.

The church has a rich history. Further up the road there is a monastery and a convent. The alter is gold.

Its not a very rich cathedral, not what you would expect from a latin country cathedral. Nice to visit it but thats all.

Took a tour here and I didn't realized how beautiful it was. They allow non-flash photography. It is air-conditioned and a great stop while touring the area..

is a fine arquitecture, but is close... right now under maintenance, so the only thing you can see is the building at the outside.

It was being renovated while I was there but from what I could see of the Cathedral, it looked beautiful.

I'm sure that this Unesco site is incredible and a must see destination. But unfortunately we couldn't appreciate the exterior of the cathedral as it was covered in scaffolding and tarps. And the interior was off limits due to the construction. What a major disappointment!

While walking the old town of panama, we sat mesmerised by the old architectural beauty of Cathedral Metropolitan, Inside was exquisite. Worth the time look.

It's good right now but once the restoration is complete will be spectacular. Right now much of it is shrouded so doesn't look normal. Can't wait till it's done.

Hello, there was some construction going on around there but it didn't affect the cathedral. We went on August so it may be an issue now. Enjoy your trip.
