I'm sure that this Unesco site is incredible and a must see destination. But unfortunately we couldn't appreciate the exterior of the cathedral as it was covered in scaffolding and tarps. And the interior was off limits due to the construction. What a major disappointment!

While walking the old town of panama, we sat mesmerised by the old architectural beauty of Cathedral Metropolitan, Inside was exquisite. Worth the time look.

It's good right now but once the restoration is complete will be spectacular. Right now much of it is shrouded so doesn't look normal. Can't wait till it's done.

I can't really add much more. It is definitely worth seeing. Always bring wet weather gear visiting sights in Panama City.

The church is currently closed for renovation. It is expected to re-open in 2019. If you find your self in Casco Viejo it's still worth a walk to see it. Although you can't enjoy the internal beauty it's still amazing to see from the outside....More

Hello, there was some construction going on around there but it didn't affect the cathedral. We went on August so it may be an issue now. Enjoy your trip.
