The lagoon of San Carlos is a very quiet place, although sometimes there are people who make noise with their music or leave trash, but it does not happen often. the road before arriving is rustic. Once you arrive you have to pay the entrance and you have the option to stay in the lagoon, swim in the lake, go... More

Nothing special. You can't fish there, you don't want to swim there. You can drink & BBQ but then you have to drive back down the mountain unless you plan to camp.

Nice option only 1 hour away from the city, very popular for locals, temperature normally around 25 c 75f, you have to pay to enter, very cheap option to go camping or just to relax

On my trip back from the inlands of Panama I overheard some local people mentioning this place. It takes about 50 minutes from the panamericana to reach this spot. It is a small lake surrounded by steep mountains on one side. There is a small trail that you can walk and it has a lot of places where you can... More

wonderful Little lake for a nice car camping experience. The lake is clean and the surrounding mountains have some nice trails with some incredible views. The camping áreas are a bit uneven so you have to search to find that perfect level spot, but when I was there we only had 5 or 6 other groups there with us so... More

A nice day trip to take out of the city. Bring some good shoes to hike if you want to get a lovely view, and the lake is nice... a medium size with a walking path around it with some good spots to stop and have a picnic. A very pleasant experience.

Picturesque lake nestled between some large peaks. Very quiet during the week but can be busy on the weekends. There is a small building where you can sometimes order lunch and get cold sodas and beers. A great hike up onto the mountain next to the lake where the views are incredible and you have birds of prey gliding in... More

In my opinion the long way to the laguna (about 25 km from the highway through a mountain road) isn't worth of what you will see. The laguna is just a very small lake between the mountains, you can be dissapointed. The entrance fee is 1 USD/person
