My husband and I always plan a stop at Firefly Farms when we're traveling to Deep Creek Lake/Oakland MD area. Their cheeses are fantastic and they have a nice selection of wines, both of which are always being sampled. they also offer breads and other boutique market items. The staff and owners could not be any more pleasant. If you're... More

The business was crowded when we stopped. A wine tasting was being conducted and several people were there shopping. The cheeses are excellent. There are some imported cheeses, but many are made locally. We especially enjoyed the goat cheeses. There is also a small collection of gourmet goodies, including breads which are sold frozen to preserve freshness. It's a delightful... More

We had some delicious Firefly cheeses on a cheese board one evening and couldn't wait to go to the shop the next morning. We were so lucky-it wasn't crowed and we were able to taste all of the wonderful goat cheeses they make and learned about he process and how to serve them. Can't wait to go back.

Tried out this place. Was a little hesitant because the parking lot was empty but who cares, its accident, MD and there are hardly any people here. Loved the experience.

Firefly makes and sells a wide range of goat cheeses from traditional chevre to two types of blue, pamersan, machengo and brie. The cheeses are all excellent and are a wonderful way to splurge. The store carries an unusual selection of wines to pair with the cheeses as well as a variety of artisan breads. The staff really knows their... More

We stopped here on our way to a lodge to pick up some light bites for dinner. The owner was at the shop (this was the day after Thanksgiving), and we quickly realized the store is at our local farmer's market. We chatted with him for a while, and you can tell how much he enjoys what he does. We... More

We really really enjoyed this wine tasting afternoon. It was a wonderful day with a fantastic host. Came home with all the wine we needed to survive the holidays.

Nice establishment run by very knowledgeable people. The different types of goat cheese was very overwhelming, until a young lady took her time explaining and giving us samples. A young man, the wine connoisseur, took some time explaining and giving us samples of wine. Definitely worth a stop!
