About
The William Paca Garden is a two acre oasis of natural beauty in the bustling center of Annapolis’ Historic District. Although many colonial Annapolitans had gardens, only Paca’s has been returned to its original splendor and opened to the public. Intrigued by garden details in the background of Charles Willson Peale’s 1772 portrait of Paca, researchers were able to reconstruct the site from a series of archeological digs that turned up evidence of the garden’s former glory. Visit and learn the stories of the people who lived and labored in the home and garden throughout the years. The William Paca House and Garden is open daily for guided tours of the house and self-guided tours of the garden.

Only guided tours of the house are permitted. Most of the furniture and other items in the home were replicas, not originals. The gardens are not that big. The pond is a good size and filled with Lillies and frogs. It's an average place to visit and the guide was not knowledgeable. She seemed to be reading a script and couldn't answer questions.

This is a nice tour of a historical house that once belonged to a signer of the Declaration of Independence. It took just about an hour and ended in the gardens, which you can view at your leisure.

Our guide was quite knowledgeable, so the information on the house, and it's various owners and iterations were interesting. While most of the decor and furnishings did not belong to the Paca family, they did a good job if explaining why they chose what they did to display.

Well worth a visit, particularly for the price.

On our trip to Annapolis - we wanted to see a historic setting. We planned our trip to the house and garden but they were having a Wedding that would close the place at 2pm. We were not able to tour the house but they let us tour the gardens. The garden and the house are not original but restored after years of change from different ownership. The docent was really nice and helpful to allow us as quick update on the grounds and a map to tour.

This was a fee activity. Make sure you call ahead for visit schedule.

Great way to take you back in time to colonial period. If you've seen homes in Colonial Williamsburg, it's kind of similar but this seems more personal. The outdoor gardens is beautiful but in need of a gardner to trim the boxwoods, roses and hollies.

A nice stop if you are in the area. We did not want to wait until the next tour of the house, so we went on the self guided walk of the garden. Will visit the house next time.
End of Sept not the best time to see a whole lot of flowers. The kitchen and herb garden were very nice. The video monitor set up outside under tent had very informative information. A very nice oasis and a short walk to dock area.

The Paca House is a HIDDEN GEM! Cannot say enough good things about this wedding venue.

First, Ginny and her entire team are incredible. No need for a wedding planner... Ginny is a renaissance (wo)man! She was so knowledgeable about best local companies/vendors to work with. She helped make our wedding reception so personalized. Most importantly, on the day of our wedding... she was there from start to finish making sure everything (and everyone) was taken care of. Cannot say enough good things!

Next, the location can't be beat. It is right in the heart of downtown Annapolis so everything (including the after-party) was in walking distance. Most of my family and friends actually stayed downtown for the wedding weekend and we loved running into wedding guests around town in the days leading up to the event.

Finally, the venue has so much character. The house is historic (William Paca was a signer of the Declaration of Independence). The gardens are STUNNING. Everything was so elegant and beautiful.

The entire team at the Paca House will forever have such a special place in our hearts. Highly recommend!

I grew up near Philadelphia so I'm no stranger to historical house tours and this one was an hour well spent. My mom and I visited Annapolis for a long weekend and we didn't do any other guided tours, so it was a good opportunity to learn a bit about the history of Annapolis. The house itself has some unusual features and William Paca had an interesting life I hadn't heard about before.

The garden was a little past its prime in August (which is to be expected), but I really enjoyed looking at the section with medicinal herbs and their uses. The pond and the summer house are also pretty. I imagine it would be quite beautiful on a sunny day in spring/early summer when more flowers would be in bloom.

Didn't have time to do house tour, thought garden would be interesting. Wrong. it is small, not particularly well kept, fairly boring.
