This is an interesting market located not far from town. There is plenty to buy here and the colours are absolutely beautiful.

A great experience shopping here. Lots to look at and you can find excellent quality goods here. If you are buying textiles - be aware that they sell things made in China as well. I took a local guide with me and I bought 2 hammocks for 160 Q each. A wool blanket for 225 Q and a small duffle... More

The first thing I do when I arrived at a city or town I would look for a market. I am pleased with the market that is next door to my hostel. It is lively as kids help their parents. People are moving around with goods on top or their heads. You have to squeeze around as there is hardly... More

If you go with a local you learn quickly to see which bit of the market is which: the 'farmers' market'; the daily market; the locals' market; the (more) touristy market; the 'food court' and so on. It is incredibly colourful and shows just how good Guatemalans are at using small patches of rich volcanic soil to grow fabulous fruit... More

Everything you could want. One giant market. Go explore this place for yourself! You do NOT need a tour guide to go shopping with you. Thursdays and Saturday's are the best day for the market because along with all the other great things available daily on these days the produce arrives fresh from the hills and mountains surrounding Antigua. You... More

We were on a private tour and told the guy we like to see the true Antigua (plus some touristy stuff). How people lived and what not! He said we had to check out the local market. They sold everything and I mean everything. We had so much fun walking through the chaos of all the people. This is where... More

It's larger than it first appears. Home goods, personal hygiene items, fruit, meat, fish, restaurants, second hand clothes, cheesy souvenirs, guatemalan sweets, and everything in between can be found at the street market. It's fun to walk in and get lost; see what weird stuff you can find! Eat some fresh fruit, buy a piñata (because why not?), and definitely... More

We spent a few weeks in Antigua and found ourselves drawn to this market every couple of days. The kids really enjoyed exploring the narrow aisles and we found a few handicraft stalls that were much cheaper than the handicraft markets. There's a really good second-hand clothing section (all from the US) in the northwestern corner where you can pick... More

Awesome. If a one word review would stand that is what I would say. We had a great time here. This is one of my favorite markets I have been to. Lots of cool stuff to see, good bargains to be had. Some of our group thought the vendors were a little aggressive, but this was there first trip outside... More

We have been to many world markets and this one is on our most favorite lists. The vegetables and fruits are huge and so bright with a back drop of the Guatemalan women and young children wearing their local colors makes for an amazing feast for the eyes.
