A great venue for classical music

A wonderful hall with excellent acoustics, located in the heart of the city with international visiting artists. A great home orchestra.

There is an anecdote in Odessa that it was impossible to choose a more inappropriate building for a concert hall than this one. It used to be a stock exchange and it was built with such a purpose that a neighbour couldn't hear the neighbour. However, this cannot be helped. There are uncomfortable climate conditions inside: too cold in winter... More

The building outside is great. Glass windows are fantastic and stares are beautiful. But it’s completely unacceptable for any kind of performance. First of all the building is not air-conditioned. They open doors during performance and give paper fans to spectators but in +40C it doesn’t help much. The second, the auditorium floor is almost flat so you don’t see... More

We didn't go inside but the building was absolutely amazing and in the heat of the summer the fountains were so refreshing...

We heard the local Philharmonic orchestra playing Ligeti and Kancheli. Sublime and lovely. The building is worth seeing on its own account.

Don't miss the performances by British pianist Jonathan Plowright on 12 and 13 Sept 2014 - this is a great venue with a generally high standard of musical performance.

FYI the picture is not the one of the building....that will be the opera house. Went to a concert and it was very good, although the Philarmornic is directed by an American!???? ( I'm not sure why when everybody knows that American directors are not the best but I'm sure he has something to do with money business ) and... More

If you can get tickets Odessa has a great Philarmonic a must see! The sound in the old merchant market is perfect and the conductor is an American.

At first, the picture is not right. It is our Opera House. Philharmonia building is also very beautiful. But the main is our orchestra with the wonderful conducter Hobart Earl. Odessa love him.

Unfortuntely , the society was on holiday when we were there, otherwiose we would have loved to have sen a concert in such beautiful surroudings - but even so, the cafe in the stunning courtyard next to it is an absolute must ( as are the amazing toilets!!!!)
