The home was worth visiting but only because it was included in the tourist card. Amusing because it isn't actually the home of Marin Drzic. Apparently it's the sort of home that someone like Drzic might have lived in. But was not actually his home ;-)

Near the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik, there is a statue of Marin Drzic. He is revered by the citizens because he wrote drama in the Croatian language. According to local lore, if you sit on the statue’s lap and rub his nose you will have good luck. It seems many people took this heart as evidenced in the rubbed-off patina... More

Like most other people I only visited because it was on the one day pass.I had a quick look around but there was nothing of interest.

I give this two rather than one because: The staff are friendly, You are almost certain to walk past it at some time, Entrance is included in the various passes, They have made an effort with English labels. That said, if you know nothing of this early Croat playwright, you are unlikely to be fascinated by early copies of his... More

Myself and a friend visited using our Dubrovnik Day Card late afternoon on a hot Sunday on the last day of July. Located in the old town. Spread over 3 floors. Pros: -Information boards, mementos and a bedroom relating to the playwright. Cons: -Stepped access. -We only visited as it was part of the Dubrovnik Card.

Unless you're a die hard fan the only positive thing about this place is the air con on the first floor. Not worth the effort even if you have a dubrovnik card.

Poor thought out exhibition that honors the 16th century Dubrovnik playwright. It was not his old house, just contains mainly modern exhibits. Nothing of interest for us and certainly not worth paying to see.

Nothing logical about the museum/house. Dominated by modern art displays and no real info about the playwright at all. And the lady front of house accosted us trying to sell CDs and maps. We got out as quickly as possible. Thank goodness it was part of the DB card and we did't have to pay. Just go and have a... More

We only visited here as we had the " buy 1 get 8 other entrances free ticket".Unless you are an expert on Croatian 16th century drama, I doubt there's much to hold your interest. Apparently Marin Drzic actually never lived here. So, OK for 10 minutes, but you haven't missed anything exciting if you don't get here.

Surely the home of Croatia's leading playwright, a man who was composing plays when Shakespeare was three, and anticipated not only the Bard, but Moliere and Goethe as well, deserves better than this tacky tchotchke shop, which holds precious little in the way of actual Drzic history and is mostly given over to perplexing art exhibits intended to demonstrate the...
