We view this place after a Game of Thrones walking tour. This is a nice site to visit while touring Dubrovnik. Make sure you plan to visit this site. It’s a fairly easy stroll to get to the fort and is definitely worth your time. The ancient fortresses on the south side of the old port of Dubrovnik were, at... More

Take the time to walk around the fortress and visit the museum - well worth the time. A lot of Game of Thrones fans will visit this spot, so getting there in early AM hours is probably a good idea. This is also a great location to check out a sunset!

Took a tour here and there were various guides doing game of thrones tours in the area. Nice to visit and to take pics over the city in a beautiful setting.

We walked around most of the Fortress, on top and visited the museum inside, as the day was partly cloudy, whilst we walked along the base it was rather chilly with wind blowing in, but we enjoyed our time here.

The St. John's Fortress was built over time to protect the south eastern side of the Old Town in particular the entrance to the Old Port. As with the other fortresses and towers of the Old Town, it exemplifies a stronghold that could probably deter invaders. It now houses an Aquarium that showcases fish species found in the Croatian Adriatic... More

The fortress gives the impression of being imprenetrable. Guarding the entrance to the old port, this brooding stronghold is impressive. It now contains the Aquarium and the Maritime Museum. Don't forget to walk around to the sea side - there are nice views of the walls and the old port.

A must see, you cannot miss it if you go to the old city. Takes you back in time. Today, it houses the maritime museum and aquarium.
