The old town of Zadar is surrounded by the old city wall and there are a number of gates one of which is this City Gate.It is nice and ornate and worth seeing on your walking tour of Zadar.

It sure is interesting to note the complex and rich history of Croatia. Having gotten that out of the way one would be hard pressed to spend more than 5 minutes at this gate. Perhaps take a photo of the gate and then make your way somewhere else?

It is just a gate into the city but worth a walk down to have a look. Ornate entrance to the old city of Zadar. The walk from the gate around Fosa is enjoyable and I recommend taking a few minutes to stop and take a look.

It's a nice feature to welcome you to the old town and not a bad gate (poor by Moroccan standards). Lovely harbour located just outside the gate

A very interesting architecture and good entrance to the old town. Such a great place. Don't miss it in Zadar.

I din't know anything about this when I first saw it. I noticed that some of the statues on the front were badly damaged. I was only later when visiting the Bishop's Palace museum of curiosities (a bizarre collection, go there!) that I learnt that a shell from the independence war had landed on it. This is a piece that... More

The city gates and the old town are not big, but they are charming. if you are at the city gates, while entering, you have the lighted bridge from one side and the old town inside the gates, as you enter you see the great rocked floor, a stand that sells corn and another with candy. as you past by...
