It doesn't look so grand or at least not any grander than others till on delves into the history. And architecturally the roof is interesting, how it's held up but for a non technical person, has slightly less wow factor.the side of the church still has some damage caused by an grenade explosion I understand. So it was more the... More

The first thing you'll notice is that the altar side of the cathedral has rather light colored stones. The reason is this cathedral was hit by bombs during the last war in the 1990s. What a waste war is! It's worth the visit from both the historical and architectural standpoints. Historical because it shows the determination of the local population... More

There are grander cathedrals in Europe, but this is the best in Sibenik and worth a visit for a couple of pics

The most beautiful cathedral in the world. There is also a lot of old streets and palaces around it.

I was hoping this place would have a bit more but I was left a bit disappointed. We paid an entry fee to go in and there wasn't any information in English about the history of the cathedral at all so didn't learn a lot. There isn't a lot to look at either.

This is a short drive out of Zadar and well worth the stop. The signs to the Center are easy to follow, and there is parking outside the cathedral. The bells at an adjacent church peal often and loudly. I highly recommend this site.
