Ask and plan, no way you can visit all monasteries but go for 3. Most of them are beautiful places, with long history. Find a monk who likes to tell stories and enjoy.

Hi, we were in Serbia last June 2016 and found a marvellous driver, we highly recommend him. He took us also to Fruska Gora - Monasteries : Krusedol, Grgeteg, Perkov Salas, Novo Hopovo, Velika Remeta and to Sremski Karlovci - Museum of Beekeeping and Wine Cellar Živanovic . Beautiful region, many great monasteries marked with spirituality and history. A real... More

These so-called hidden monasteries are each worth a visit. Not only for the religious, they give lots of historic information in the peaceful environment of Fruska Gora.

The mosaic work in the monasteries is marvelous. Such beautiful paintings of the saints and priests of old! And what beautiful rose gardens. Not a Orthodox believer but national treasures tucked away among the vineyards and orchards and the beautiful mountains.

Also known as Serbian Holly Mountain (Sveta Gora). Now there are 16 monasteries. I have visited monastery Novo Hopovo, Staro Hopovo, Jazak and Krusedol. If you came here, you certainly should visit at least one of the monastery.

We visited some of the monasteries (Krusedol, Remeta, Grgeteg) and all of them are well kept, with beautiful churches and nice surroundings. On the other side each monastery has somethig of its own.

Visiting the Fruska Gora Monasteries is a nice day trip from Novi Sad. They are in the Fruska Gora Nat'l Park about 45 minutes from town. The only easy way to visit is with a car.
