Prepare to see lot's of tourists around the area, but all-in-all it is as beautiful and enjoable as the Old Town itself. Take a full day "off" and walk around the city - it is really nice and romantic.

An alternative entrance to the city walls and the old town if you want to avoid the crowd. Thankfully, we did come across it, and we all agreed that it was worth our while. It’s quite picturesque with the mountain and the river. And it...More

This is less well used than the other entrance to the old town and is a little more enjoyable because of that. Climbing up the walls at this point will also give you a pretty good view (with less people!).

This is a great spot for a picture of the walled part of the Old Town of Kotor. This length of the wall is bordered by the river and offers a very nice view. The walled Old Town of Kotor is beautiful!

This is another gate to the old town and not well used as the main gate. The gate and the walls along with the river and mountain present a pretty picture and its easy to imagine what it would have been like a few centuries...More

To be fair there isn't a lot at the Northern gate itself but it is very attractive and doesn't seem to have changed for 1000 years. A massive sold wall for protection and a wide moat. There is a small bar close by to get...More

The Northern Gate offers great views of the city walls and is less crowded then the Sea Gate but isn't as close to Kotor main attractions. Probably worth walking out of once but not an unmissable attraction.

Most people enter and leave Kotor old town via the Sea Gate. The North Gate is more scenic, less crowded and handier if you have been shopping in Kotor's only mall. The view along the city walls from the coast road looking toward the hillside...More

Great location to get a shot of the city walls, mountains and the monastery. If you are driving to the town then keep and eye for the parking on the other side of the water from the walls.
