We walked through neighborhoods, crossed over the bridge, walked some more then came upon Stari Most. It is a very peaceful area, well worth taking the time if you are tired of running around from one tourist spot to another. Have lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants along the edges.

From the iconic old bridge, this river is very beautiful as the turquoise river very soothing and beautiful. I had my lunch at the restaurant overlooking the River and i spent hours sat enjoying the view.

It is another iconic part of Mostar. Go down to the riverbank and admire the incredible profile of the bridge as it spans the gorge that the Neretva River flows through

The Neretva has a total length of 230km and flows through Bosnia and Herzegovina (208km) and Croatia (the last 22 kilometers) where it reaches the Adriatic Sea.

Settlements the world over have grown up close to rivers and lakes, for we all need water, and Mostar is no different. The water certainly looks clean, but i can't swim so I won't be getting in any time soon. The river is of course flanked by many different bridges, each with differing views and styles and each worth visiting in their own right.

The river is unique because of its unique color and the water level can go up or down several meters at times considering the number of hydroelectric power generation installed before Mostar.

If Stari Most Bridge is the Prima Donna at centre stage, then the Neretva River is the stage.
Perhaps also of significance beside the river is the Koskin Mehmed Pasha Mosque ... standing in the wings!
This combination makes the experience in Mostar seem almost surreal ... until you walk a little way & see the pock marked & mortared buildings that are everywhere.
The sad realities of war.
Glad the Stari Most was rebuilt with reparations from Croatia.

I found the Neretva River to be very clean, clear, and beautiful! I mainly saw it around Mostar and found it to be scenic and everyone seemed to be enjoying it. It is beautiful how it goes through Mostar, surrounded by the cliffs and buildings.

We had afternoon drinks at a restaurant near the bridge just above the river. We watched kayakers skillfully paddling against its strong currents. Very scenic.

As rivers go this didn't impress me. It flows under the not so old bridge in Mostar, which is full of shops selling rubbish and fake goods. With beggers that follow and harass you for money not a great place. I'm not surprised people jump from the bridge I felt like doing it just to get away from the place.
