Symbol of Sibiu

With it's impressive tower, the old church is one of the symbols of Sibiu you will find on almost all post cards. Organ concertos are sometimes organized there.

My son wanted to visit it. We climbed hundreds of stairs for NOTHING. he started to cry while arriving upstairs because there was nothing to see - not an exhibition, an information, nothing!. And the person selling the tickets inside the church is the most unfriendly person I have ever seen.

The church is one of the most emblematic buildings in Sibiu, being often confused with the Tower of the Council (Turnul Sfatului) by new visitors. The church is quite sober and dark inside, keeping the same traditional Saxon churches style, but what is the most interresting thing about it is its tower; the climbing looks quite dangerous and thrilling due... If you get the complete tour, climbing the stairs to the top of the tower is going to be really interesting (not for the faint of heart or those with fear of heights). The view from the top is amazing. Ever saw these panoramic photos that capture the beauty of Sibiu? This is the place where they were taken and... More

I was here as part of a travel group. There was a group of 7 of us. For an extra 5 lei, you can climb all the way to the top in the towers. We learned that Dracula's son is buried behind the organ (which is not accessible, but you can see it when you walk in). The views alone... More

A very imposing cathedral. The tower is impressive and foreboding as the four turrets on the top indicate to all that enter that the town had the right to sentence death. The interior is no where as ornate as its catholic cousin in the square, however very in keeping with the gothic style. Currently there is an art exhibition in... More

Gothic cathedral was built in the 14th century on the location of another 12th-century church. Is the most famous Gothic-style church in Sibiu.
