A nice museum in an exceptional complex

Situated on a hill with a emblematic statue on top of it. The climbing to this statue is a little bit difficult (you can use stairs or an alley - the longer way)

Tiny museum but I liked the displays and the fact they are in English. If you are going to the memorial this is a nice stop.

For a mere 7.5 lei you can see some amazingly well-preserved artifacts taken from 5 or 6 different area sites. There are explanations in English at some exhibits, French or German at others, Romanian at all. If you can't actually get TO Argamum or Histria, this is the next best thing. Could not believe we were the only people visiting this museum on a lovely Saturday. It is an amazing, extremely comprehensive, and clearly set out presentation of the history of the Tulcea region. The English text was very much appreciated.
