This is a paradise for birds and bird watchers. We went for a five hour tour with the Safca agency (50 EUR per person including lunch) and saw so many birds it was hard to believe our eyes, including pelicans and several species of heron....More

If you want to see the paradise, go to the Danube Delta. We saw the Letea Forest but no wild horses. We went on the small canals with canoes. It was a wonder. So ... if you have a few days ... dont think about...More

We spent a week on the Danube Delta. We travelled with Untravelled Paths. It was fantastic and extremely well organised. Our guide Dragos was very knowledgeable and also very pleasant. However he was not intrusive but was always at hand if we needed him.The whole...More

... is it really necessary to offer "ecological" tours on loud speedboats? Surely the birds, the fishermen and even the tourists deserve better than that!

Sometime we think that only in exotic destinations we can see unspoiled wildlife. Danube Delta is a wonderful example of wilderness, far from car, in the heart of Europe. A visit to Danube Delta in Springtime or Summer, going around in the small channels with...More

I'm planning to visit Danube Delta in late May and am wondering what the best way to make a reservation for one person for a boat trip. It sounds like if I choose a tour operator randomly and send a request for a reservation, I might be the only person on that particular day, and therefore they would charge me a few hundred Dollars / Euros for a tour. Are there like agencies that book these tours? I'm thinking an agency would be able to assemble a group of people for a tour? In any case I prefer an all day trip and am willing to pay up to perhaps $100, including everything.
