When you visit Peshawar, this place is a MUST GO place. You would be mesmerized to see the fasting Buddha statue and would keep watching it for a good long time. It would seem to you that in the very next moment the statue would move. Alone this statue is not enough but more statues of the Buddhist sculpture would... More

The Museum of Peshawar is outstanding. Its collection of ancient Gandhara style art is unrivaled anywhere in the world. The distinct style of Greco-Roman art traces back to the 1st century AD and is unique in its depiction of the Buddha. The collection has over 15,000 sculptures, murals and relics from Buddhist stupas dotted throughout the NorthWestern region of Pakistan.... More

I am not newcomer to Peshawar area, and this visit to Gandhara Museum was not the first one, but personal guiding of our group by Museum's Director was incredible by in-deph lecturing and focus on most meaningful items and facts of local ancient and modern history! I'd like to advice everyone to visit this fascinating museum!

One of the only smiling Buddha is in this Museum. A very less visited place in the city so can see it in a calm and peaceful environment. Will not take more then 2 hours to complete see the museum. But a must visit place once you are in the city.

This museum apparently holds the most artifact of the Ghandaran era in the world. The curation of works can be further improved into taking visitor on a tour of the era. Lots of potential for this museum to host other exhibitions and public events. I wished they had a functioning souvenir shop so I could buy a fridge magnet to... More

My Maternal great grand father was then Director of this Museum. To see through history and an old family connection makes this place a great interest.Located on a very busy local traffic road, it's accessible to all in official timings.Well preserved and maintained. A lifetime experience for History students.
