UXO Museum is a must when in Luang Prabang! This small space is dedicated to educate viewers on the tragedy that Lao people still face today due to millions of “bombies”, unexploded ordnance the country was left to endure. This museum will give you more understanding & insight of what occurred & the aftermath. There is a powerful short movie to be seen at the museum. Hours of operation are limited. Entry is free, donations are accepted. There is a small section to purchase items. Please support!

A sad place to be to get educated about the results of war which remain to this day in Laos. Educational movie showing the destruction and current attempts to detone bombs in the countryside before they maim and kill farmers and children. Example of cluster bomb with 300-400 destructive bombies inside. Really a must see however sobering.

This museum is a place where people can be reminded of the horrors of war. To this day, there are Bombies that need attending to. A museum to visit when you’re in Laos.

Could only walk around the outside of the building g and read up on some of the stories and statistics. My guess is this place is still closed a lot of the time post COVID. Few reviews ever written which is a shame. Big collection of bombs outside around the garden.

An extremely sad place to visit. My trips have taken to countless countries where I as an American hold my head in SHAME. Although the museum is small, you'll see various examples of weapons used by the US military against the NVA. Watch the video of a number of short movies about the contemporary victims and the history of why these dehumanizing weapons (30% which did not explode when they were supposed to) were used. Read the statistics board outside based on incidents and year. Known that the phrase "rule of engagement" did not apply to the "secret war" in Laos and Cambodia; meaning anything goes. How the USA got the title the "Greatest Democracy" is beyond me. May history be rewritten such that the whole world learn of ALL the TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE deeds done even when war was never declared. Isn't it ironic that the nations contributing to the cleanup do not include the perpetrator.
