Trekking, kayaking, cycling, rock climbing, community immersion are some of the highlights Luang Prabang has to offer. Multiple-day treks to the remotest places are rewarding as is the direct contact with people of the forest still deeply immersed in their distinct, centuries old traditions.

Green discovery is one of the few outfits in Liang Prabang that offers flexible options to accommodate solo travelers, even if their pricing is befuddling. I paid for a "public" option at the solo traveler price (distinct from the "private" solo traveler price, which is higher). This meant I was open to others joining the trip. I was pleasantly surprised... More

Went with Green Discovery for a day trek to Kuang Si Waterfall. The local guide tried his best English to entertain us and taught us the various plants (some could be used as medicine or food). Gave us his full attention during the tough steep climb down the waterfall.

Thanks for the nice feedback. We're glad you had a great trip to Kuang Si waterfalls and liked learning about the different plants found in the forests. It is indeed very interested how many pharmaceutical uses their are from many natural products. A knowledge developed and passed down through generations here in Laos. If you have any more detailed feedback... More

Our guide is nice, considerable and known very well about local life. This tour is a bit hard because many up and down of hills and it is really really really steep and full of small rocks. We've visited some villages and could see the handicraft made by the local people. For lunch, we've eaten local food in a dried... More

Happy to hear you liked your bicycle trip! Yes, we definitely encourage clients to be familiar with bicycling before booking this tour with us that takes you bicycling on dirt paths. Happy to hear you liked both the guide and the food on the tour. I'm not sure what this part means, but no disrespect taken. "*as no consent making,... More

What an authentic experience! This trek was the real deal and by that I mean it was hard! Don't get me wrong, we are glad we did it, an it was beautiful, but their website is pretty sparse on what you can expect, so here is the lowdown: -This is an unsupported trip! By that I mean the guides are... More

Thanks for the feedback on how you perceived the difficulty level! It's much appreciated. Yes, it is a four day trip into the jungle and forest of Laos. We're happy to hear you liked the trip even though it was raining for three days! Then it can really get muddy if it keeps raining. It's an authentic trip and yes... More

Our trekking tour in Luang Prabang was part of a 13 day tour in Laos organised by Green Discovery. We drove out of the city and started trekking towards a Mong village where we spent the night. Our guide Siong was very good and nice. His english skills are not the best, and a bit difficult to understand what he... More

We took the 1 day trek to Kuang Si waterfalls, through 2 villages, some nice hillside scenery and a stop at the hermit cave where villagers used to shelter when Laos was bombed heavily. Our guide Phai was knowledgeable and passionate about his job. He was considerate, asking whether the pace was OK and whether we needed to rest. He... More

My two travel partners and I booked an excursion through the Luang Prabang province that consisted of trekking, kayaking, cave exploration, and a homestay. I simply cannot say enough good things about this trip. The experience of trekking through the Lao jungle was unlike anything I have ever done before. It was more beautiful than words can describe, and the... More

I came here with a large group of friends. Most of us were already a bit skeptical about the whole idea of riding elephants, because of how unethical it cane be, but nevertheless we tried to go in to the activities with an open mind. Though the elephants did seem to be well, we asked questions and found out that... More
