Much to see, but not all at the top

Lots to see on the way up (or down). Summit isn't spectacular for the Wat (but worth the trip up for the sunset!). On the river side, there are many things to see. On the city side, mostly just stair. If you are in Luang Prabang, this is a must see attraction.

That Chomsi Stupa from a distance appears to be in the middle of a jungle, but is in fact above one of the main streets of Luang Prabang. Entry is 20,000 Kip and you climb just over 300 steps to reach the top. You can watch the sunset from the top, although we did not do this as it was... More

A small stupa at the top of Mount Phou Si. A nice place to spend some quiet time in contemplation while enjoying the views from the top of the hill.

A good idea is to take your time with a slow walk up to the top. There are good views all around and lots of Bhuda Statues all over the hill especialy on the far side. Well worth a visit though.

To wlak up all the stairs in the morning on Mount Phu Si! Excuisite view all over Luang Prabang and you can watch the cities growth by observing all the NEW ROOFS - and of course , you see the green Laos too.

Suggest going in the morning and avoiding the midday heat as we found ourselves sweltering but even so well worth the many manyyyy steps for the spectacular views and beautiful temple!

On top of Mount Phousi you will find the small golden stupa, well maintained. Ofcourse with Budha statues inside and place to make offerings. Alot of locals do that i saw. Its a pretty big climb to the top to see it but its worth it because you have a great view on the city of LP. The climb goes... More

We had just visited the Old Palace so we crossed the road and then climbed the hill (about 15 min at a slow/steady pace) to the temple. Like other reviews have said, it doesn't compare with other temples, and is very small and looks a bit neglected. However, from the top the views around LP are excellent and if you... More
