The only truly nice place in the city where you can feel an arabic atmosphere. It is a bit dirty but nothing you won't see in other parts of city.

This is a nice place with few historic places to go. A lot of shopping places with nice economic options. When in Jeddah do visit for shopping.

Balad itself means Town, so this is the equivalent of any Old town in any city with traditional shopping areas, Gold shopping and money exchange. Good to visit and dining is available also around.
