The mosque itself is small but the impact is great. I love the fact that you can lay down and watch the main hall ceiling. The lonely planet describe the ceiling as "harmonious understatement". I didn't understand it until I saw it in real life....More

Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque used to be the mosque for Royalty, and when you visit the mosque you will understand why. The mosaic work of altar this mosque is different from the other mosques, the artists cut out the different shape of tiles piece by piece...More

Originally built for the ladies of the court it is not as spectacular as the Imam mosque. But it still has some lovely tile work & a more intimate atmosphere than the bigger mosque. It is worth a visit.

It is a need-to-see museum with full of blue ceramics in the middle of the famous Esfahan square. Do not forget to check the shops.

From the entrance you walk down a gold clad corridor to this huge domed room which is just breath taking. It is like nothing else we had seen in the whole of Iran. The basement is also worth visiting.
