The area
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

There is little to say, it is one of the largest shopping centers in the world ... and here everything is at the top.
Inside there is a museum, an ice rink, access to the Burj Khalifa, the famous aquarium and every day is a surprise to discover.
The first time you enter you really get lost, also because it does not seem logic helps since for example the subway does not reach it from the ground floor or basement but from the second (because you get there from the suspended pedestrian tunnels)
Inside there are also electric VIP cars that can help you move (given the distances) especially in case of purchases.
Useful information totems that will show you the fastest way to get from where you are to what you need.
I went there practically every day even just for lunch because there are several food areas with international food at prices for all budgets
Excellent free wifi connectivity throughout the...
Turning it discover waterfalls, works of art, an art museum, the chinatown neighborhood and much more ... there is a lot to walk ...
The shops are all at the top, honestly in some the presence of too many staff that as soon as you enter asks if you need it has bothered me to the point that I did not even enter it anymore.
My advice is to turn.. turn.. turn...
The only negative thing, in my opinion the bathrooms are too few and a bit too difficult to find given the size and number of visitors ... especially in certain areas

This was my Day 2 of Dubai Trip where I explored the Sunrise from Burj Khalifa and then Dubai Aquarium inside the mall. It was time to explore the Dubai Mall and it was huge. Personally I won’t recommend doing shopping here until and unless you are into luxury shopping and the main motive to come to Dubai is just shopping. I didn’t see much offers on any of the brands. But these are the free things which you shouldn’t miss - Exploring the falls inside the mall and the fountain show which starts at 6 PM and goes on until 11 PM with half an hour gap. Total show is for 3-4 mins and beware of the huge crowd there.

Beautiful place, lots of shops, good selection of brands. Lots of restaurants, lots of Russians. Russian maps, gazprom unionpay has not passed anywhere. Prices are higher than in the US and Europe, many just stagger around the mall, hide from the heat.
Seats to watch the fountain show should take an hour for 1.5 in the cafe near, better on the other side of the mall pool. Entrance to the Burj Khalifa directly from the mall, tickets are better taken in advance in Russia yet, as they are not in place day in day out.

My live calligraphy event at Dubai Mall was an unforgettable experience. The energy of the crowd, the appreciation for my art, and the joy of creating personalized pieces in real time made it truly special. Seeing people admire the beauty of handcrafted calligraphy reminded me why I love this art. It was an honor to share my passion with such a diverse audience in one of the world’s most vibrant locations.

Dubai Mall is definitely more than just a shopping destination; it's an entire world on its own! From high-end fashion to casual dining spots, there's something for everyone here. The sheer size of this place means you can wander around for ages without getting bored – it’s like its own little city! One of my favorite aspects was the variety of entertainment options available, especially being so close to iconic attractions like Burj Khalifa. It's not only a great place to cool off but also serves as a vibrant hub in Dubai's lively atmosphere. Visiting here feels like experiencing one heartbeat of Dubai itself; I'd recommend it to anyone coming through this incredible city.

were family in July, there was a daily transfer from the hotel to Dubai Mall, so about the taxi, on the grand parking mostly lexuses, for example to the park white 250 -300 dirhams requested, if catching a taxi at the bottom of the parking lot where buses, there cheaper but they smash the cash, card payment do not wish to accept, in the very Dubai said there is parking under the grand parking by signs can pass, there as at the airport ribbons are strung and queue to exit to the taxi, and here is the most common city taxi counter payment by card, all there. for example on frame 32 dirhams the trip was worth. the price with taxi drivers must be checked before boarding and about payment by card check on the spot. wish everyone a triple rest, be attentive and communicative.

In the end it is a mall but a fancy one, you could check out some unique shops that you wont see in your hometown. Entry and garage will be filled with very expensive cars, you will get upset but at least have a good look at them. A few good restaurants and cafes that could be worth trying, recommend good walking shoes because it is a big mall, you might even need to use a map and yes the maps on your phone will have a detailed version for this specific mall.

Excellent mall. Huge range of shops. Can be overwhelming with the vastness of the mall - hard to know where you are going initially. I would recommend downloading the Dubai mall app in advance - it gives the list of retailers and their floor location. I suggest giving yourself a few hours at least to visit as it is very vast and there is so much to see. Popular retailers such as Zara had very long queues for women’s changing rooms - waiting at least 30 minutes or longer to use changing room. When departing, there is a specific exit for taxi pick ups. You can also use the cinema parking P3 exit to get a taxi when leaving. Easy to get lost, so recommend keeping an eye on the signage within the mall and downloading the Dubai mall app in advance.

Visiting Dubai Mall has always been an exciting and thrilling journey for me, serving as a prime destination for shopping and leisure. However, as every experience has its own pros and cons, exploring this vast complex has also been an adventure filled with both delights and obstacles.
Pros:
Vast Size: Dubai Mall is so large that even in a day, it's impossible to explore all its passages and shops. This immense size provides a wide range of choices in shopping and entertainment.
Pleasant Weather: The moderate and pleasant weather inside the mall, coupled with Dubai's overall climate, offers visitors an enjoyable experience.
Free Parking: Dubai Mall boasts large, complimentary parking areas, alleviating travelers from parking-related expenses and concerns in the area.
Challenges:
Parking Location: Despite ample parking spaces, finding the right location can sometimes be challenging. Due to the mall's vastness and multiple parking structures, one may get lost and require assistance from others to locate their vehicle.
Ineffective Navigation: Utilizing the Dubai Mall navigation app for routing and locating shops proved to be inefficient. The user experience of this app requires improvement to assist visitors in finding their destinations effectively.
Final Tips:
To make the most out of your shopping experience, allocate sufficient time to explore Dubai Mall thoroughly.
Opt for parking spaces close to your destination to avoid getting lost within the complex.
For navigation, relying on local guides and mall signage might be more effective in swiftly reaching your desired destination.
Overall, a visit to Dubai Mall offers an enticing and diverse experience, and with proper guidance, you can truly revel in its offerings.

If your priority is shopping and you have time to waste for that, this place is for you. Too big and lots of brands and everything in one huge building, you can only reach them by walking hours and hours. But if you are in Dubai for any other reasons, this place will not be your favorite one.

I've read online that the footbridge from the metro station to the mall only opens at 1000. Is this really true? I've got a booking for the Burj Kalifa at 0900 so how can I get there from the metro station if the bridge is closed? Thanks.
