About
Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

When reviewing media sites regarding this structure, it is included with towers as being the tallest tower. This is false as combination buildings should be excluded from the list. The base is even much wider than a tower and people usually do not live in towers, but combination skyscrapers. It might be the tallest building to the top of the building without the actual tower. Labeling it as the tallest tower in the world is false and misleading. Very disappointed.

This is an amazing building and the locals are rightly very proud of it! There are great light shows, especially on special holidays and occasions and the visit up to the 124 / 5 floors to see the spectacular views of Dubai is a must-do.

Very cool to say you have been in the tallest bldg. in the world and it's a must-do in Dubai but don't expect to be blown away. Nobody can go to the very top of the spire so the At-the-Top experience is about 125 floors--of course it's impressive but the line is very long to go up and down, the elevators are hot and dark and packed with people and the observation deck isn't as big as you may think. But views and architecture are pretty darn spectacular. Make the most of it and appreciate it because chances are you won't go again and you can say you've been there.

I do not have words to describe this engineering Marvel, the tallest building in the world. I admire the vision of the great person to think about this Building in the first place.

The stunning view of Dubai from the 148th floor is breathtaking. You can enjoy traditional coffee along with dates. Snacks, juices and coffee are part of your ticket. So do not hesitate to ask more if you wish.

The building has the world's fastest elevator covering 9 M/Sec and reaches the 125th floor in just 77 seconds.

You can spend as much time as you wish at the top as there is no time limit. The ticket to 148th floor is costly so one has other option of visiting 124 and 125th floor which is relatively cheaper option. However, snacks or drinks are not included.

Must see part of the Dubai tour.

A little bit underwhelming. Make sure you go extra early to avoid huge crowds. Pretty but a little underwhelming, maybe floor 148 would have been better.

When we booked online for visiting the 154th floor, the Burj Khalifa website mentioned it did have the refreshments, but not a Skip the Line price like Trip Advisor or any 3rd party websites. However, when we got there, to our surprise for the tickets we bought and showed, they allowed us to skip the line and made us Sky VIP's on the spot.

Because of that we got into the 154th floor within 20-30 minutes. In that floor, great views of downtown and further and refreshments (mainly some Arab Tea and some date snacks), which were really good.

If you visit Dubai, I recommend buying a ticket where you can skip the line. Worth every penny.

In my point of view visiting the observation deck of burj khalifa is not that impressive and it is not worth the big queue if there is one.
But it is still a must do in dubai. The first question you will be asked when you go back to your country, did you visit burj khalifa , the tallest building in the world?.
We booked our 124 &125th floor ticket online
We went by 9 am. There was no line at all
There were only few people in the building so we enjoyed the view with a lot of pictures and poses.

We did the 150th floor experience. Absolutely worth the additional money. The views are spectacular especially if you go pre-sunset.
