No trip to Dubai can be complete without a visit to Dubai Mall and the jaw dropping sights of the Aquarium, the dancing fountains, and the Burj Khalifa which towers ever upwards into the sky. This alone will set your pulses racing if you purchase a ticket to ascend this masterpiece of engineering and building skill. The view from the... More

Visited from 16:00 until sunset at 17:30. Interesting building. Queues were reasonable. You can't take a pushchair in so I ended up carrying our three year old all the way back down as he'd fallen asleep. Not their fault though. Worth a visit.

If you're in Dubai you can't not take a trip downtown to marvel at the insane height of the Burj Khalifa! Also if you go at night the fountains are running and the Burj is usually lit up

We opted for the 'at the top' tour at 1230 in the afternoon, we were going to get fastpass tickets but were told by staff that it is not busy at this time and so we wouldnt need them....... wrong. We had to queue for about 40mins just to get to the lift, it was then packed on the observation... More

An architectural wonder to behold. Even though it was expensive, it's definetly worth it to get a ticket to the top, the 148th level. First take a walk around the fountains at the base of the building to get a sense of the scale. It really does seem like it touches the heavens. The ticket allows you to bypass the... More

Must go to the top to get the full effect. Pricy but worth it, during sunset it's the most expensive and beautiful, if you want to save some money go at other times but do go to the top!

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
