About
Standing over 2,700 feet and 163 floors high, this record-breaking skyscraper in downtown Dubai is the tallest structure in the world. Burj Khalifa has several open-air viewing decks and swanky lounges which offer splendid views of the UAE and the Persian Gulf. The highest lounge is located at level 154, and there is even a hotel at levels 38 and 39. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill architects, this mixed-used development atop Dubai Mall is inspired by the Great Mosque of Samarra in Iraq. You might want to buy skip-the-line tickets or join a tour to avoid snaking queues at this popular attraction in Dubai. – Tripadvisor

Top ways to experience Burj Khalifa
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

Excellent but outrageous prices for photos
It’s a world class attraction, all is arranged in great way, but actually similar experience at Palm Dubai also has a nice construction video, which here is more basic. Also, 65 usd per single digital picture is completely crazy. There is no costs for emailing it and at e.g. 10 dollars per photo, there would be hundreds of customers. For now they got noone. Very stupid marketing

Great tallest building ✌️🩵💕 in the world
It is a must to visit the tallest building in the world (2023) great experience, good views from the highest level. I went during sunset time, the water fountain show goes on and off every 30 min I think. Great vibe to see the Burj Khalifa from the outside with all the light show projection on it and the fountain show and also very nice to go all the way up and experience it. From the nice entrance to the elevator effect to the discovery from the top.

At the top of the world
Visited the top of the burj khalifa during our visit to dubai. It was an excellent experienece. From the moment you are in the express elevator, to the time when you reach the top, it is memorable. The view from the top if amazing. Make sure when you buy tickets for visiting the top of the burj, do not include any roof top dinner inbuild into the same, as the buffet served is not great. Overall, must do, when you are in dubai.

Get the SKY VIP Tickets for the 148th Floor! Absolutely Worth Evry Penny!
The Burj Khalifa is a major tourist attraction in Dubai and receives thousands of visitors everyday! 99% of these visitors only buy tickets to go to the 125th &124th floors, therefore, these 2 floors are COMPLETELY PACKED with visitors everyday at all times of the day! Do yourself a favour and buy ticket to access the 148th floor. That is exactly what I did and when I arrived at the 148th floor, there were less than 10 visitors there! It is so much easier to take the photos that you want on the outdoor observation deck on the 148th floor compared to the lower floors. With your VIP ticket, you also get complimentary Arabic coffee and snacks in a peaceful and comfortable lounge.

If You're in Dubai you have to go up this
Whilst not being my favourite place I visited in Dubai, I'm a sucker for tall buildings having been to New York multiple times. Compared to those famous buildings, this is another level in terms of height. It impressive silhouette is instantly recognisable and I recommend going to the Apple Shop in the Dubai Mall, there is a viewing area at the back of the shop where you can get a great shot of the Tower along with the fountain area. When you go up to the top, the view doesn't really feel real because you are so high up, its like viewing a child's playset of a city from above. The pictures of how they building the structure and why its designed like it is are really interesting and as with most places in Dubai, its very clean and well organised.

You can see the city from the top
I would rate it 3/5 cause it was just a viewing of the entire Dubai, too much crowded. If you want to visit to the top and see Dubai then yes, but me and my partner had a funny conversation/ achievement saying that this is the most tallest floor that we have been 😂. I’m a person amazed for the top views of a nature I’m not a city viewer either is my husband

    Atmosphere Lounge Breakfast
My breakfast experience at Atmosphere Lounge was truly exceptional, and I owe much of it to the outstanding service provided by Suhar, our attentive and courteous waiter. From the moment my partner and I arrived, Suhar went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Not only did he take the time to capture beautiful photos of us throughout the meal, but he also surprised us with a complimentary honeymoon cake, adding an extra touch of sweetness to our morning. Suhar's attentiveness and genuine care made our visit unforgettable, and we are incredibly grateful for his dedication to making our day so special.

    Impressive Structure with Amazing Views
The world's tallest building is a spectacular sight and definitely worth a visit. We opted for the more expensive At The Top/Sky which includes a visit to the open air 148th floor in addition to the 124/125th floors that you visit with regular tickets. There is a Sky Lounge on the 148th floor where you can get a drink and this more expensive ticket includes a shorter wait to make your way to the observation decks. I think it is worth it but don't think you are just going to show up and hop on an express elevator right to the top. We made the mistake of budgeting 90 minutes to visit the Burj and the Dubai Fountain. You should set aside 2 1/2-3 hours. First it was extremely confusing and time consuming to find the entrance to the Burj in the massive Dubai Mall. You still have a lot of waiting and standing in line for several different elevator before you reach the 148th floor and it's the same process to get down. Even with the VIP ticket, we spent an hour trying to find the entrance and getting up and down from the observation decks. Spent about 30 minutes at the top and didn't have time for a drink. We ended up missing the Dubai Fountain show that we had purchased tickets for that evening in the prime viewing area (which by the way is completely unnecessary). Again, definitely worth experiencing but hopefully you can plan your visit better from our mistakes.

An Architectural Marvel In Glass & Steel
Burj Khalifa, the tallest building on earth, with a skyrocketing height of 829.8 m has a very interesting history behind its name, which was originally planned to be called The Burj Dubai. If you know why, do share it in the comments. This icon is on everyone’s Dubai itinerary and we had a stupendous view of this skyscraper on Day 2 of our UAE visit. This concrete, steel and glass building looked stunning as it glistened in the Dubai Sun. The architecture of this structure to me was very familiar and I knew why when I realised that it was designed by a team led by Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the same firm that designed the Sears Tower in Chicago, a previous record holder for the world’s tallest building and one of my favourite structures in Chicago, of which there is a detailed post earlier about this cigarette pack design. While the architecture is a treat to observe, however, you can also sit beside the [artificial] lakeside, sip some coffee and do some people watching. And once it gets dark, the sound and light show projected on the tower is a marvel. Just beside, on the lake, the Dubai Fountain is another wonder to watch. Illuminated by 6,600 lights and 50 coloured projectors, it is 270 m long and shoots water 150 m into the air while accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and other music . It holds the record for the world’s largest choreographed fountain. Designed by WET Enterprises this fountain system cost Dh 800 million (US$217 million). The Burj Khalifa has got several records to it's forte, including, Tallest existing structure: 829.8 m Tallest structure ever built: 829.8 m Tallest freestanding structure: 829.8 m Tallest skyscraper Building with most floors: 163 World's highest elevator installation (situated inside a rod at the very top of the building) World's longest travel distance elevators: 504 m World's tallest structure that includes residential space World's highest installation of an aluminium and glass façade: 512 m World's highest nightclub: 144th floor World's highest restaurant (At.mosphere): 122nd floor at 442 m World's highest New Year display of fireworks World's largest light and sound show staged on a single building While both the Burj Khalifa sound and light show along with the Dubai Fountain is absolutely a free treat, if you want to see the city from the observation deck, you need to purchase tickets to At The Top, Burj Khalifa tickets. Our travel partner had booked us into that, but the experience was not good as it was promised.

An absolute hit with us. From stepping into the place we took so many photos. It is really interesting to see the build and how it progressed. We bought our tickets online with a time slot but when were visited we were early, there were no queues at all and we asked if we could go in which we could. Ever so pleased as it was not busy so we had as much time as we we wanted taking pictures from every window and lots at the "wings" area which make incredible pics to keep. The glass floor area is quite scary but amazing (especially when it starts to crack!). Gift shop was brilliant with lots of choice for things to buy. Take a bottle of water with you. Wear comfy shoes. We were in there about 3 hours but we took loads of photos.

Got the VIP ticket to the highest observation deck. Expensive, but worth it to avoid the crowds, plus you get access to the aquarium and zoo.

I recommend going with someone to talk with or with a book to spend as much time in the lounge and get your money’s worth.

Brilliant views from the top and it is amazing just how big the Burj Khalifa really is!

There is even a post box at the top so you can send your postcards, however all though you can buy postcards at the top, you can't buy stamps.

The Burj Khalifa wow what an amazing building! We reserved tickets for a sunday morning it was quiet, I love how as you walk through they give you a guide as to how it was built year by year. The only queue we encountered was the queue ‘ to the top ‘ for the lift, even then we only waited 10 minutes.

The lift itself is impressive and gets you to the 124th and 125th floors in no time it moves fast from floor to floor but in a graceful way, once at the top the views are simply breath taking, there is a photographer up there keen to take photos of your experience, sales people will then try to get you to purchase these, we brought a few.

There is also a cafe and gift shop, overall wonderful experience highlighting the beautiful views of Dubai.

I could not come to Dubai for the first time and not go and see the Burj Khalifa. This was always going to be a must do item on the Dubai bucket list and there were plenty of options available on the website. I opted to go all out for the Sky Lounge pass giving access to the highest public floors.

On arrival you are taken to a holding lounge with light refreshment. You are then taken to the elevators with other lounge guests and ‘top of the world guests’ at the 125th floor you’re group separates and those with Sky Lounge pass are taken up to the 155th floor.

From here there are three incredible levels of lounges, reception rooms and view points for you to marvel and enjoy. The observation decks are almost empty so none of the hustle and bustle and people getting in your pictures. There’s a vast variety of unlimited canape’s, light bites & drinks for you to enjoy as part of the package and the food was top quality. There’s much more that an be said but ultimately the views are truly something to behold. I highly recommend a visit whatever package you choose but if you are on the fence about doing the Sky Lounge… I’d say go for it.

I suppose if you’re visiting Dubai you’re probably thinking about going up the Burj Khalifa well this my experience, so after queuing up for about 10 mins for tickets was told all sold out for the day when I explained that they were available online was told to buy them that way then stood next to the ticket booth completed transaction on my phone showed the same guy the Qr code given tickets and admitted very busy your packed tightly into the lift and sent up usual views over city but you don’t get a view of the Burj khalifa it’s self coz you’re already up there better value better experience visit sky view observatory nearby better view much cheaper less crowded.

Views were amazing. Booked ticket for 10am on a Tuesday and arrived early and got straight up, around the viewing platform and through the gift shop before the queues started building.

Certainly worth parking at the Dubai Mall having a wander around the Dubai Fountains and taking a look at the Burj Khalifa. The surroundings are unreal, very busy but a great atmosphere…music playing and a great buzz from the crowd.

Decided against going up the Burj Khalifa after reading reviews and deciding it wasn’t great value for money but glad we went to see the building and surrounding areas.
