Used to be a private residence. Very luxurious and well kept. Guided visits provide interesting info and a few bad jokes. Free and not far away from Viñas city center or beach.

The place is impressive and I highly recommend taking the guided tour to make the experience better. It's free and it's centrally located.

This is an historic former home of a famous family. The opulence is breathtaking as you move from room to room. The architecture is very European .

The villa is very surprising, build at the beginning of the 20th century, a mixture of Art Nouveau and flamboyant French Romantic style with grand decor and artifacts. Well worth a visit and free of charge. Pity there are no English explanations.

Museum has free admission. Ground floor has a few period exhibits such as old irons, vinyl singles, but is not that interesting. The chief attraction is the period rooms on the second floor in Louis XVI style, their decoration and furniture. To my mind the star exhibit is a carved elephant's tusk of exquisite detail and workmanship. Of course, totally... More

Closed only on MONDAYS open and FREE the rest of the time. Apparently a few decades ago, there were many such French style palaces. Now they have all been torn down as sites for high rise luxury apartment buildings. This is the last one. It has been lovingly restored by the City . Our visit was for me, a highlight... More

The Palacio Rioja is a worthy of a short visit. It was recently renovated and it looks spectacular. You can take a tour inside and walk around the grounds. There is a nice park just outside the palacio. "City Tour", the Chilean TV program on Canal 13, devoted an episode to the Palacio Rioja.

There are about six rooms open in this palace. Very beautifully restored. And, it is free! Take 30 minutes or so to see this. Also, the grounds are nice.

The Palacio Rioja is still making repairs from the 2010 earthquake damage. The staff were very gracious and even though we did not speak the same language, my guide was helpful pointing out items of interest.
