We visited the Laguna on a 3-day-trip from Uyuni and we liked it most of all the ones on our trip. The intense red in combination with the blue, grey and white along with the flamingos made the perfect scenery for some amazing pictures.

Weird that this place is mentioned in Potosi.. you visit this beautiful lake with a 4wd during a tour from San Pedro to Uyuni or vice versa. That said: the lake is stunning! The red color is amazing, especially with the blue sky, yellow grass, grey sand and pink Flamingos. A photographers dream!

A photo cannot capture the magic of this place. It is unique in every way and the flamingos just add the finishing touch. The red colouration comes from a micro organism but when we were there due to the low water levels there was a lot of salt white colour. Wear stout shoes so that you can wander along the... More

This is a beautiful warm water lagoon in the Andean desert I visited it early in the morning The warm volcanic waters filling the lagoon rise water vapors through which birds, mainly the 3 types of flamingos, but also ducks and other aquatic birds linger The atmosphere is completely surrealistic and it well worth visiting This is not a place... I went there in August and I bought thermal pants and t-shirts... And even so I felt cold. There is a refuge there where people usually spend the night. There is no communication at all with the world. But at the end of the day all the suffering will be worthed!

Visiting in May one was still able to view hundreds of flamingos in the lake before they migrated north to warmer surroundings. There were also llamas grazing on the shores. Bitterly cold however.
