This museum on the campus of University of Michigan has a surprising assortment of artifacts from Egypt ( including a couple mummies)) Rome, Greece and other ancient civilizations. It is FREE too. If you like archeology, and have an hour or two, be sure to stop in!

Small but interesting and free. Tucked away right in the center of UM campus. Fun for a short visit.

Went with a friend to a lecture. It was very well presented. The prof was not arrogant nor made those of us lacking a deep knowledge of archeology welcome and did a very interesting presentation! So nice this museum is close and open to public.

I only got to spend about 30 minutes in the museum because I didn't realize that it closed at 4pm. I probably could have spent another hour in the place. The museum is small but has lots of neat artifacts. I am amazed when I see the skill and craftsmanship of people that lived hundreds/thousands of years ago.

A great place to wander. The exhibits are nicely described and displayed. If you have an interest in ancient art this is the place for you in Ann Arbor. It isn't too large and the fairly new renovated spaces are conducive to wandering.

I LOVE this museum. I graduated from the University of Illinois and worked at their campus museum. . . compared to this one. . . that one was a play house. A large majority of everything in the Kelsey was excavated throughout their history as a museum starting in the 1920s. They have ongoing expeditions throughout the ancient roman empire... More

What a find! This is a small musuems with a wealth of artifacts from the Mediterranean areas. There was a guided tour that was par-excellence. The docent was wonderful; I am not sure of her name, but I didn't want the tour to end. Oh, and did I mention it's free.

The museum is well laid out with focus on civilizations of the Mediterranean and the Near East. It took us about an hour to leisurely walk around and explore the displays. It was facinating looking at artifacts of daily life from ancient civilizations. Their displays were well designed with a particular focus expressed in each one. When you visit, make... More

It's not the MET. This is a great small museum. Plan to spend about 45-1 hour and you will see most of the exhibits. Well designed and informative.

This little museum is worth a visit if you are on central campus. It won't take very long and it's free, so there's no reason not to take advantage of it. This is especially nice as a quick break on a hot summer day. Donations are welcome.
